This page is for homeowners looking for certified installers near them. It explains how to search the official registers by postcode and get local quotes. We do not name or recommend any companies. Our qualified provider list guide explains the registers themselves.
For the broader overview, read our guide: Any Qualified Provider List for UK Homeowners.
Independent guide. We are not a lender or a government body. Always check current scheme rules with the official provider.
Search the official registers
Start with the registers, not adverts. Both MCS and TrustMark let you search by postcode. Filter by the technology you want, such as heat pumps or solar panels.
- Open the MCS find-an-installer search.
- Enter your postcode and choose the technology.
- Note several installers that cover your area.
- Check each one on the TrustMark register.
Read reviews with care
Reviews add useful detail but do not replace official checks. Look for patterns across several reviews rather than single comments. Check that reviews mention the same technology you want. Be wary of a page with only very recent, very similar reviews.
Get local quotes
Contact two or three installers from your shortlist. Ask each for a home survey and a written, itemised quote. Use the same brief for each so the quotes compare fairly. Confirm deposit protection and warranty terms in writing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find an installer near me?
Use the MCS find-an-installer search with your postcode. Then check the TrustMark register.
Can I trust online reviews?
Use them as one source of detail. Always check certification on the official registers too.
How many local quotes should I get?
Two or three written quotes give you a fair comparison.
Do you list local installers?
No. We are independent and do not name installers. The official registers are the best source.
So you can build a shortlist of local certified installers from trusted sources.
